4 Star Guest Accommodation Visit Britian

Haworth Area

Haworth is the beautiful hillside village in the Yorkshire Moors that was the inspirational home of the Brontë sisters. A visit to The Parsonage Museum is a must, a wonderful display can be seen there that offers a fascinating insight into the lives of the sisters and that of the local villagers of the period. The museum gift shop boasts a marvellous collection of books, all about the area and The Brontë literary history. Following your visit here, why not walk across the moors and see for yourselves "Top Withens" where Emily found her inspiration for Wuthering Heights.

The award winning Keighley and Worth Valley Steam Railway runs regularly from Haworth Station, every weekend throughout the year and daily throughout the summer and major school holidays. There are also heritage diesel trains throughout during half term breaks. A memorable journey on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway commences from Haworth's authentic gas lit station and will take you through some of Yorkshire's finest countryside. A memorable experience for anyone and with the station just a few minutes from Rosebud Cottage you couldn't pick a better spot to stay.

From your base at Rosebud Cottage in Haworth you are ideally situated to explore the many fine visitor attractions in the area. In Keighley, the nearest town you will find Cliffe Castle Museum and a lovely National Trust property, Riddlesden Hall. Skipton, the renowned "Gateway to the Dales" is within easy reach, offering a very pleasant day out, browsing along the street market or through the eighteenth century shops. Overlooking the shops is Skipton Castle a substantial Norman Fortress.

Leeds, a wool centre since the middle ages, and later a bustling mill town is now a smart Cosmopolitan City, the only City outside London to have a Harvey Nicholls store in fact. There is plenty to see and do here, shopping obviously is splendid, but besides that Leeds is home to a number of major architecturally famous sites, the famous Victorian Town Hall, with its 225 feet clock tower, the Corn Exchange, now a trendy shopping gallery and the Civic Theatre. Leeds City Art Gallery, Leeds City Museum and The Royal Armoires will also keep you occupied for hours, Leeds City Garden Theatre and Opera House have a wonderful programme of events. After all that excitement you will be glad to come home to the sleepy village of Haworth and your warm cosy bed at Rosebud Cottage.
